"In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you"-IThess.5:18

I made a speech at toastmasters recently concerning being thankful for things we receive from others. Many times I do not acknowledge the gift. So I know the folks who gave felt that I did not appreciate the gift. I am pledging to try and be more diligent at letting people know I was thankful. Here are some excerts from the speech.

Definition-Expressing sincere thanks to God and others for the way they have benifited my life. Here are some quotes: 1. "A proud man is seldom a grateful man; he never thinks he gets as much as he deserves". 2. " Thank God for what you do have instead of murmuring about what you don't have".3. " Grateful people appreciate what they have; murmurers don't want what they are given."

I pledge to: 1. Tell folks verbally my thanks. 2. Write notes of thanks.3. Give public recognition.

Thankfully yours because of Christ,

Carolyn fixed meals everyday for them. They did work long hours, sometimes until 10:00 PM. I enjoyed the home cooked meals for a change.

BORN FREE TAXED TO DEATH

It's tax time again and it upsets me that our taxes go up and every government is seemingly just spends more and more rather than trying to operate on less. I wonder how many elected officials owe taxes and don't have to pay on time if at all. It just gripes me that we have have a sec of the treasury who is a tax evader. Now he is head of the IRS.
The dirty little secret is that government does not produce revenue like private business, it just taxes us to death. Here is a great quote from the late Adrian Rogers, pastor of Belevue Baptist Church in Memphis Tn.: "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person recieves without working for, another person must work for without recieving, The government cannot give to anybody anything that the goverment does not take first from somebody else. when half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the end of any nation. You cannot multply wealth by dividing it."
2Thessalonians3:10"--if any would not work, neither should he eat."
Have a blessed day,
